Kirker’s new DIAMOND PEARL SERIES is part of the ULTRA-GLO single-stage urethane system. Soft pearls and super intense pigments blend to create subtle color-shift effects in these six beautiful colors, which are perfect for overall refinish work, graphic accents, delicate fades or custom blends.
To create the subtle pearlescent effect, these colors are somewhat translucent and should be applied over an opaque ground coat for best results. To create the truest, most vibrant color, a base of Pure White (UA-81030) works the best, though custom painters will want to experiment with a variety of ground coat colors, or even combinations of multiple colors.
Made with the same top-quality urethane resins as Kirker’s ULTRA-GLO colors, the Diamond Pearl Series provides a high degree of UV protection to help keep vehicles looking glossy and deep in color for years.
Mix ¾ gallon of DP Series acrylic urethane color to one quart of UA-1600 Medium or Slow activator (3:1). In most applications, reducer is not required however, if used, Kirker recommends the mix comprise no more than 10% of the appropriate temperature urethane reducer. Any of Kirker’s urethane clears may be applied over, or integrated into the DP Series color.
Other custom options:
- Experiment with different base colors, or ground coat colors.
- Use DP Series colors beneath, or in combination with SPECTRA Series candy colors
- Blend different DP Series colors for unique color options
- Tint DP Series colors with SPECTRA Series candy colors for unlimited color options
- Mix activated clear into activated DP Series colors for an even less obvious appearance. This is especially helpful on blends, or when the desired appearance is only a subtle shimmer for accent.
